During a seminar in 2009 the Designers Team was formed, a diverse group of 4 experts from different continents, cultures and professional backgrounds. They symbolize the 4 pillars of the Pyramid for Light.

Architect

Maan Bacha obtained his architectural degree from the INBA Institute in Lebanon in 1973 and his Masters in Architecture from the Lebanese University in Beirut in 1974. He is member of the “Ordre des Ingenieurs et Architectes de Beyrouth” with registration no. 03793.

During his long career as an architect, he worked for the Consulting and Design office in Beirut and became Head of the Architectural Department in CADO - Eastern Province Al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia for more than a decade.  He was promoted to senior architect designer and supervisor for production of Prefab-units and semi-permanent houses in Porta-Space Saudi Arabia and became the technical director of SAUMARB, the Saudi Marble Company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Since 1994, he has occupied the position of General Manager of ADE-Arabia, specializing in building material supplies and is often involved as a consultant in a large span of architectural projects.

Civil Eco-Engineer, Architect and Geo-Biologist

Born in France in 1953, Rémi has become a known expert in Eco-Biological Constructions, in line with the Highest Environmental Quality Charter.  He is a licensed Civil Engineer, having obtained university degrees in Biology, Geology and Architecture. Being fascinated by Nature, Rémi holds an holistic view about the harmony and balance between Humanity and Nature. He is involved in scientific research groups, gives lectures on the subject and never ceases to further expand his knowledge on the subject.

Since 1988, he created a study centre called BIO-ESPACE for consultancy, advice, technical studies and research to facilitate and enhance healthy constructions.  In his work, he cooperates with a group of ecological engineers whose work is termed “biological construction”.

Rémi also founded a school named BIO-ESPACE FORMATION, which has become a point of reference in the region and is open for specialists as well as individuals to learn more about the subject of ecological and biological construction.  As a renowned expert and specialist, he is often consulted on complex structures where he aims to find a physical and psychological balance in our environment, which can often be unbalanced due to constant external negative impacts. 

He is the author of the book “Médecin des Murs” (The Wall Doctor) and often helps to execute methods of alternative constructions, renewable energies, eco-biological construction.  He regularly gives conferences and lectures to organizations, schools and institutions.

Sylvie PARENT (Canada)

Expert in energy efficiency and renewable energies

Sylvie Parent, born in Montréal, is an MA (Master of Arts) graduate in Social Ecology with a major in Renewable Energies from Goddard College, Plainfield, Vermont, USA, in 1982 and a Graduated MBA (Master in Business Administration) with a major in Marketing from HEC of Montreal University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in 1992.

Sylvie worked from 1976 till 1989 with different non-profit organizations and companies to realise projects related to energy conservation, solar energies and other sources of alternative energies, such as: Solar Energy Society of Canada -Quebec Section (SESCI-Q), Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique - Energie (INRS-Energie), PMA Engineering, CEGEP Ahuntsic, Self-construction Housings with RONA, Exacon, SOLTRAC, Fournelle Energy Technologies, Convention Centre, etc.

Since 1989, Sylvie has been employed at Hydro-Quebec, an autonomous governmental company providing electricity to all customers in the Province of Quebec, totalling 3.9 million customers. She was initially assigned to work on energy efficiency: in the conception, development and implementation of energy efficiency programs, particularly for commercial, institutional and industrial clients.  Sylvie is currently involved with Strategic Planning and Prospection in the Department of Energy Efficiency to stimulate sustainable development. As such, Sylvie regularly participates in national and international conferences related to energy efficiency and sustainable energies.

Jean-Jacques BRÉLUZEAU (France)

Geo-Biologist, Practitioner of Radiesthesia and Therapist.

Expert in Geo-biology, founder of “Institut Santé de l’Habitat”, Jean-Jacques Bréluzeau is a professional member of the S.N.R. (National Union of Dowsers) and S.G.E. (Water-diviners and geo-biologists of Europe). For this bio-energy expertise and research, he works closely with architects, doctors and therapists. Among his customers, he counts the French Departments of Water and Forests, the Gendarmerie (police), the GIGN, laboratories, food factories, farms, schools, companies and, of course, individuals.

He participates in national and international conferences. He regularly attends exhibitions concerned with health, welfare or the environment and lectures widely on these subjects. He also provides a range of training and workshops.  His research on the new earth frequency, and intensity of new modes of telluric and electromagnetic pollution led him to develop tools for biotic protection and harmonization for houses.  He is especially known for the bio-frequency moduleurs, ‘Terres Sens®’, which considerably improve the effectiveness of bio-energetic aspects of residences.  He is known both in France and abroad for analyzing and harmonizing domestic living areas.

As an advocate of sustainable building, Christopher has actively campaigned for the formation of the Philippine Green Building Council, an alliance of business and industry leaders from both private and public sectors that promotes sustainable building practices to the property industry.

Christopher De la Cruz is one of the Principals of Ecotektonika, Inc., a multidisciplinary sustainable consultancy firm focused on the development of sustainable designs and strategies for the built environment.  Before joining Ecotektonika, Inc., Christopher De la Cruz worked independently as a Sustainable Built Environment Strategist with public and private organizations that promote sound sustainable practices to urban and rural settings. He has developed and delivered training sessions on environmental management and sustainable building for several non-profit organizations.

He is an active member of the United Architects of the Philippines - Green Architecture Movement , a Lifetime member of the Solid Waste Management Association of the Philippines and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President of the Philippine Green Building Council.

Architect and Chair, Philippine Green Builders Council

Anna is currently the Executive Director of the PHILGBC National Secretariat. She has over fourteen years of international experience working with various stakeholder communities in identifying information management needs.  She has worked mostly with donor agencies: providing technical assistance on solid waste management and organizational management, management of project funds and small grants facility, and designing of workshops and conferences.  She provides training on solid waste management planning, organizational planning, fund management and business planning. Her work with USAID projects has made her familiar with its procedures and regulations.  Mrs. Tungol has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Ateneo Graduate School.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Assumption College.
